Most Yards Will Never Visit Your Showroom
You built a good showroom. Maybe off the shop, maybe a real floor. People walk in, touch the powder, stand under a bay, and leave knowing what they are getting.
Most of the yards that would buy from you will never come through that door.
They are two cities over. They found you at night. They liked the photos. Then there was nothing to do except request a quote, so they left. You never met them.
Local is a ceiling
The showroom model quietly caps the work at driving distance, plus the few who will invest a trip before they have seen a number. That radius is not growing. The search is. Pergolas, pool enclosures, shade. People look from everywhere. The demand was never local. The sales motion is.
A serious buyer now does this. They search. They open a handful of sites. They try to learn if the structure fits the slab and the budget, alone. If they cannot get that answer, they go. Call us does not feel like the next step. It feels like a chore for a stranger.

The room still answers trust. The site has to answer fit.
People who make the trip convert, as they should. The question before the trip (is this even worth it) is the one your site has to answer. You cannot ship the showroom. You can answer fit, look, and price. That is a configurator's job.
When they can set the span and the roof on your site, they stop browsing and start designing their yard. By the time they send the configuration, most of the decision is done. Geography stops being a filter. A buyer who will never park in your lot can do the same confidence work as the one ten minutes away.
Your team cannot sit with every one of those people. The model can hold the first pass: the options, the price, the no. Humans take the close and the odd roof.
Mass production put the same SKU in every lot and called it a showroom. One-of-one outdoor work needs a room that can travel. The other showrooms are fishing the same pond. The yards that will never visit are the rest of the water.
Molldi is the showroom that does not close.
